Attached is the June 2017 Sparks from the Spa Newsletter.
We have a very important meeting coming up on Monday June 12. The board meeting is at 6:30PM, and the general meeting is at 7:00 PM. The meeting is at our usual location, the Wilton EMS building off of Jones road in Wilton.
It is our June meeting where among other things our first priority will be electing a new set of officers, and board of directors. We really need you, (Yes, I’m looking at you!!) to step up to the plate. Please consider running for either a board seat or an officer seat. We have 4 officers, a President, Vice President, Secretary, and a Treasurer. We have four at large seats for board members. Do you want to see something done differently in the club? Come on, please submit your name to become a member of the group who decide policy and direction for the club. Don’t worry that you will be hurting any feelings about running for a seat that has been filled in the past. I guarantee you that all the existing officers would be more than happy to get some new blood and ideas to move the club forward.
We will be having a short presentation by Dave Galletly (KM2O), recruiting for help for a major upcoming event in Albany this August. The MACCABI GAMES will be held in Capital Region August 6-11, 2017 and Albany County ARES is in need of 120 radio operators to support this event. Visit the MACCABI Games Registration announcement for further information.
Peter, W2BEW and Fred, W5BN will lead a discussion of our Field Day plans for June 24 and 25 at the Wilton EMS building. We have recently put CW and narrow SSB filters in the club’s 2 Icom radios, and Peter proclaims them ready for heavy use on Field Day.
I hope to see you all here.
